The operation, which took place in Dutsen Wori village within the Dandume Local Government Area, was based on reliable intelligence received by the police command. According to a press briefing on April 11, 2025, DSP Sadiq Aliyu, the spokesperson for the Katsina State Police Command, revealed that the mission, led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Dandume, began around 4:15 a.m.

As a result, five armed bandits were killed, and seven operational motorcycles—four Hondas and three Boxers—used by the criminals were seized, Sadiq confirmed.

Later that morning, around 7:00 a.m., additional intelligence from the Department of State Services (DSS) pointed to ongoing bandit activities in the villages of Unguwar Adam and Unguwar Judo in Danmusa LGA. In response, the DPO of Danmusa mobilized another joint team of police officers, KSCWC members, and vigilantes to confront the bandits. This team engaged the criminals in a firefight, successfully forcing them out of their hideout.

During the operation, three suspected informants, believed to have aided the bandits, were arrested, and two motorcycles along with two bicycles were recovered. Efforts are still underway to capture the remaining suspects who managed to escape.

Katsina State Commissioner of Police, CP Bello Shehu, commended the professionalism, coordination, and dedication shown by the security team. “These operations demonstrate our steadfast commitment, alongside other security agencies, to protecting lives and property in Katsina State,” CP Shehu said. He reaffirmed the command’s determination to remain vigilant and relentless in the fight against banditry and related crimes.
