A 60-year-old man, known only as Kenneth, has reportedly met a tragic fate, allegedly tortured to death by unknown individuals amidst a property dispute in Nza Ozubulu, Anambra State. According to reports, Kenneth’s decision to sell a water tank situated in the family home to address familial issues seemingly triggered his younger brother to involve local authorities, leading to his apprehension with the aid of a vigilante group.Human Rights Advocate, Harrison Gwamnishu, brought attention to the incident, urging Governor Charles Soludo to ensure justice prevails in this matter. Disturbing footage obtained by media outlets revealed Kenneth enduring severe torture, pleading with his attackers while being accused of theft.The victim, his hands bound behind his back, suffered physical assaults from two assailants wielding sticks, ultimately resulting in his untimely demise.
Gwamnishu emphasized the urgency for governmental intervention, expressing concerns for Kenneth’s family who reportedly face intimidation and fear reprisals should they pursue justice for his death.Addressing the community of Nza Ozubulu, Gwamnishu implored them not to turn a blind eye to the case and to safeguard the welfare of the deceased’s wife and children.
