Tragic End For Couple Found Dead In Ondo Apartment

A middle-aged man named Eric and his unidentified girlfriend were discovered deceased in their residence in Ayeyemi, Ondo city, located in the Ondo West Local Government Area of Ondo State over the weekend. Sources in the area reported that they were found in a compromising position. The exact cause of their deaths has not yet been determined.

According to local accounts, speculation suggests the possibility of electrocution. It is theorized that they may have accidentally made contact with an electrical socket while using a generator to charge a phone on the bed. Eric’s relatives became concerned when he did not answer his phone, prompting them to check on him. Upon arrival, they peered through a window, discovered the bodies, and subsequently forced entry into the residence.

SP Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, spokesperson for the Ondo State Police Command, confirmed the incident during a conversation with Channels TV. She revealed that the couple had been in a relationship for approximately two years, and their families were aware of their partnership. The bodies have been removed and taken to a nearby hospital morgue.

Meanwhile, a community resident, Blessing John, shared images from the scene where the couple tragically passed away, citing it as a case possibly linked to “Magun,” a cultural belief associated with mysterious deaths during illicit relationships.
