Tragic Fire Claims Lives Of Kano Couple In Late-Night BlazeA tragic fire claimed the lives of a 67-year-old man, Muhammad Uba, and his 52-year-old wife, Fatima Muhammad, in Kano State on Friday. The spokesman for the Kano State Fire Service, Saminu Abdullahi, confirmed the incident, revealing that the fire was reported at around 1:45 am. A distress call was made by one of the service’s staff, Ahmad Abubakar, prompting an immediate response from the fire crew at the Bompai Fire Station. The team arrived at the scene by 1:51 am.

Upon arrival, the fire service discovered that the blaze had spread throughout the ground floor of the 50×25 feet building, which consisted of two rooms. The couple was found trapped by thick smoke. Despite being rescued unconscious with burn injuries, both victims were later confirmed dead by a doctor.

The bodies of Muhammad Uba and his wife, Fatima, were handed over to the ward head, Muhammad Auwalu Rayyanu, of Rangaza in Ungogo LGA. Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the deadly fire.
