In Mairuwa village, located in the Faskari local government area of Katsina State, a tragic incident unfolded as bandits claimed the life of a politician known as Alhaji Lado. The attack occurred during Saturday night’s Ramadan prayers within the village mosque, as worshippers gathered.

While specific details surrounding the event remain scarce, it’s been reported that Alhaji Lado met his untimely demise for refusing to comply with the bandits’ demands. Additionally, the assailants abducted Alhaji Lado’s wife and two daughters during the assault, leaving a sense of terror and grief in their wake.

Among the victims was a health worker identified only as Sani, who was associated with the Mairuwa Health Facility, according to an eyewitness account.

Katsina State has endured significant challenges with banditry, experiencing repeated attacks that have posed severe threats to the safety and security of its residents. Despite efforts to curb criminal activities, the region continues to grapple with the persistent menace of banditry.
