Tragic Incident: Farmer Murdered By Unknown Assailants In Ogun

Unknown assailants allegedly took the life of Ogar Fidelis, a maize farmer, at his farm in the Odomosibi area of Ijebu-Igbo, located in the Ijebu North Local Government Area of Ogun State.
According to a police source, Fidelis’ family became concerned when he failed to return home from his farm on Saturday morning, July 13, 2024. Subsequently, a search party was organized to comb through Fidelis’ farm and the surrounding vicinity.
The search party made a grim discovery upon finding Fidelis’ lifeless body on the farm, bearing severe machete wounds on his neck and other parts of his body.
SP Omolola Odutola, the spokesperson of the state police command, confirmed the incident to the press on Sunday, stating that the victim’s corpse had been transported to the hospital for autopsy. Odutola added that investigations were ongoing and emphasized that no suspects had been identified yet.
“The body has been deposited at the University Hospital in Ago-Iwoye mortuary for autopsy,” Odutola mentioned, highlighting the ongoing efforts to determine the circumstances surrounding Fidelis’ tragic demise.
