The Kano State Police Command reported on Tuesday that Nurudeen Shehu, a 37-year-old security guard at Prestige International College in Kano, tragically took his own life. Gumel provided details, saying, “On January 28, at around 10:30 am, Abdullahi Abdulsalam of Rijiyar Zaki reported that Shehu was discovered hanging lifeless in a classroom.” The Gwale Division police, under the leadership of the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), entered the classroom, cut the rope, and promptly transported the body to Murtala Muhammed General Hospital. The attending doctor confirmed his demise, and his remains were then released to the family for burial.
Reports suggest that Shehu’s decision to end his life was influenced by the news of his ex-wife’s remarriage to another man. Despite this apparent motive, Gumel assured the public that a thorough investigation would be conducted to uncover the circumstances surrounding the abrupt termination of Shehu’s life.
