Three individuals have been apprehended by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Bayelsa State for trafficking psychoactive substances camouflaged within noodle packets. The agency’s spokesperson, Mr. Femi Babafemi, revealed this information in Abuja on Sunday, stating that two of the suspects were apprehended at Swali Jetty, Yenagoa, on March 27.

According to Babafemi, the confiscated psychoactive drugs included 73.425kg of codeine, molly, tramadol, and diazepam. He noted that the third suspect was captured at Amasoma, Yenagoa, as part of a subsequent operation. The illicit substances were hidden in large sacks and transported to Swali Jetty using a tricycle.

Furthermore, the NDLEA detained two individuals in Orile Imo, Ogun State, on March 29 for possessing 137 blocks of cannabis suspected to be Indian hemp, weighing 71kg. Babafemi also disclosed that in Taraba State, the agency recovered 39,980 tramadol pills from a 33-year-old suspect in Lankaviri village, while another 29-year-old was apprehended in Wukari on March 28 with 131kg of Indian hemp.

Additionally, in Abia State, NDLEA operatives arrested a 28-year-old man on Friday, March 29, at Akara Ahuba in Isikwuato Local Government Area. Among the items seized from him were 46.65kg of Indian hemp, along with various quantities of tramadol, methamphetamine, Rohypnol, and a sum of N71,500 in cash, presented as an exhibit.
