The discord arose over who would maintain custody of the suspended Central Bank Governor, Godwin Emefiele. DSS agents were preparing to transfer Emefiele back to their custody, while NCoS officials were also present to take him to a correctional facility, in accordance with the court’s decision.
Justice Nicholas Oweibo of the Federal High Court had previously granted bail to Emefiele after he had spent six weeks in the custody of the DSS. Emefiele had pleaded not guilty to two counts related to the alleged illegal possession of firearms and ammunition. CONTINUE READING
