The tribunal, led by Justice S. Y. Abubakar, rejected the petition filed by the PDP candidate, Hon. Chukwuka Onyema, which challenged Ogene’s victory.
The tribunal ruled that the petition lacked merit and unanimously confirmed Ogene as the winner of the election, which included a supplementary poll held on April 15.
The judges determined that the claims made by Onyema against Ogene’s victory were not substantiated. The tribunal also dismissed Onyema’s assertion that elections were not conducted in around seven polling units in the constituency.
Furthermore, the tribunal rejected the petitioner’s argument that Ogene was not a genuine member of the Labour Party when he was nominated as the party’s candidate.
