Tsunami Of Defections Looms Ahead Of 2027, Uzodinma Boasts APC’s Rising Power!

Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, has voiced strong optimism that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will continue to attract waves of defectors from opposition parties as the 2027 elections draw closer.

Speaking with journalists in Abuja on Saturday after a strategy session with political stakeholders from Delta State, Uzodinma highlighted the growing momentum behind the ruling party.

His remarks followed the high-profile defection of Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, along with several top figures from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to the APC — a major realignment ahead of the next general elections.

Commenting on the political shift, Uzodinma said, “The tide is clearly turning in our favor, and the defections will only continue. Our party in Delta State is expanding rapidly. Delta is now on the verge of becoming a one-party state.”

As Chairman of the Progressives Governors Forum (PGF), Uzodinma stressed the need for strategic management of the influx of new members, highlighting the APC’s internal structures as key to ensuring unity and seamless integration.

“We must continue meeting to properly handle this overwhelming success, using our party’s internal mechanisms to welcome new members and leaders. Together, we will strengthen the party and support governance in Delta State for the benefit of our people and our great party,” he explained.

Uzodinma also hailed the defections as evidence of the APC’s surging popularity nationwide, adding, “We are pleased with these developments — a clear testament to the growing admiration for the APC government across Nigeria.”
