Two individuals suspected of armed robbery were apprehended after allegedly stealing a woman’s phone while she was making a call. The incident, as reported by SP Benjamin Hundeyin, spokesperson for the command, occurred around 11 pm when a group of five men in a tricycle approached the woman and forcefully took her phone. Upon raising an alarm, the woman attracted the attention of nearby individuals, leading to the capture of two of the perpetrators while the other three managed to flee.
Hundeyin stated, “During a late-night phone call, a pedestrian was targeted by five individuals in a tricycle who robbed her of her valuable mobile device. Swift action from bystanders enabled the apprehension of two suspects, while three others evaded capture.” The Bode Thomas Division officers promptly responded to the scene upon receiving reports, rescuing Kehinde Olayinka, 22, and Junior Olanrewaju, 21, from potential harm inflicted by an angry crowd. An ongoing investigation is in progress to locate and apprehend the remaining suspects.
