Daniel Bwala, a former aide to ex-Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has expressed deep concern over reports that bandits have taken control of one of Nigeria’s largest military training grounds.
The facility, located at the Nagwamase Military Cantonment in Kontagora, Niger State, has reportedly forced the evacuation of at least 23 communities in the surrounding area.
Bwala emphasized that the Defence Ministers must take action, indicating a significant deficiency in the ministry’s capacity. He lamented that this troubling incident has occurred despite President Bola Tinubu providing ample support for efforts to combat insecurity. In a post on his X account on Wednesday, he criticized the poor coordination within the Defence Ministry, attributing it to ongoing setbacks in addressing the security challenges facing the nation
