The visit formed part of a fact-finding mission by a U.S. Congressional delegation, which included Reps. Mario Díaz-Balart, Norma Torres, Scott Franklin, Juan Ciscomani, and Riley Moore. They were accompanied by U.S. Ambassador to Nigeria, Richard Mills, and met with Nigeria’s National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu.

Reflecting on the trip, Moore posted on social media:

“I want to thank National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu for a productive and positive discussion with the U.S. Congressional delegation in Nigeria. We explored concrete steps and actions that, if fully implemented, could enhance security nationwide, dismantle terrorist organizations in the northeast, and curb the targeted killing of Christians—particularly in the Middle Belt, a key concern for @POTUS and myself.
