Vice President Kashim Shettima To Represent President Tinubu At International Summits

The decision was announced in a statement by Tinubu’s spokesman, Olusola Abiola.

The summit, themed “Transforming Food Systems for People, Planet, and Prosperity,” will see him participating in a high-level session focusing on “Innovative Financing for Food System Transformation: the Case of Nigeria.”

He will also be involved in a side event discussing “Scaling up Multi Stakeholders Collaboration and Investment in the Implementation of Food Systems Transformation Pathways in Nigeria,” organized in collaboration with various UN agencies.

Following the Rome event, Shettima will travel to St. Petersburg, Russia, to attend the Russia-Africa Summit on Wednesday, July 26.

At the summit, he will engage with political and business leaders, strategizing to enhance relations between Russia and the African continent, among other benefits.

The Vice President is also scheduled to participate in bilateral meetings with representatives of relevant Russian senior government officials and business leaders to discuss furthering relations between Russia and Nigeria.

Accompanied by senior government officials from Ministries, Departments, and Agencies, Vice President Shettima is expected to return to Nigeria at the end of the week after successfully representing President Tinubu at these international gatherings.
