Victory For APC! Umar-Sani Clinches Basawa Constituency By-Election
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially declared Dahiru Umar-Sani of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the Basawa Constituency by-election for the Kaduna State House of Assembly.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The Returning Officer, Prof. Nasiru Rabiu of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, announced the results on Sunday, confirming that Umar-Sani secured 10,996 votes, defeating his closest rival, Muazu Danyaro of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who polled 5,499 votes.
He further revealed that DanBala Usman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) received 811 votes, while Mahmuda Almustapha of the Action Democratic Congress (ADC) garnered 146 votes.
“Having met all legal requirements, Dahiru Umar-Sani of the APC is hereby declared winner and returned elected,’’ Prof. Rabiu stated.
Although 18 political parties were cleared to contest, only four eventually fielded candidates in the by-election.
