The Returning Officer, Prof. Nasiru Rabiu of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, announced the results on Sunday, confirming that Umar-Sani secured 10,996 votes, defeating his closest rival, Muazu Danyaro of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who polled 5,499 votes.
