Video Footage Exposes Counterfeit Alcohol Syndicate Operating In Delta Arrest Made
The Delta State Police Command has apprehended a counterfeit producer of alcoholic beverages. In a video disseminated online by SP Edafe Bright, the command’s spokesperson, the suspect admitted to concocting a mixture of ethanol, water, and flavorings, which he then packaged in bottles resembling popular alcoholic brands. These counterfeit drinks were subsequently sold to unsuspecting consumers.
Bright, in his online post, cautioned Nigerians, especially those who frequent spirits like Gordon’s and Chelsea, about the activities of the arrested suspect, identified as Chinemem Adigwe. Adigwe’s modus operandi involved procuring empty bottles of renowned brands, filling them with his fake concoction, and passing them off as authentic beverages. Bright urged vigilance in purchasing drinks and implored individuals to pay attention to the details shared in the video confession by the suspect.
The video, shared on social media, serves as a public awareness initiative to safeguard consumers from falling victim to such fraudulent schemes.
