These rules are to be strictly enforced at recreational centers, event halls, and clubs, in accordance with Sections 95, 362, and 373 of the Bauchi State Sharia Penal Code.

Explaining the rationale behind the crackdown, the commission said many marriages fail due to the loss of baraka (divine blessing) from the outset. The decision follows a thorough assessment of cases presented to them.

In lieu of organizing mass weddings for divorcees, the state government has empowered over 500 women, including former sex workers, by training them in various entrepreneurial skills to promote self-sufficiency.
