Voting Begins In Emohua LGA For Rivers Local Government ElectionsVoting has officially begun in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State for the Local Government Council Elections. The electoral process kicked off at 8:30 am at Unit 3, 025, Ward 4 in NlMgbueto Community, with electoral officers arriving promptly to oversee the proceedings.

So far, the voting process has remained peaceful, with no security operatives or police visible at the polling units, contributing to a calm and orderly environment.

Omenihu Jackson, the Councillorship candidate for the Action Peoples Party (APP), expressed his satisfaction with how the election was being conducted after casting his vote. He said, “The election has been peaceful. People are conducting themselves well, and the process is running smoothly.”

Collins Amesi, the leader of the ward, shared Jackson’s positive outlook, praising the smooth conduct of the election. Commenting on the absence of police, Amesi said, “You can see the election is progressing well without any police presence. We commend the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) for maintaining a peaceful process.”

However, Amesi raised concerns about the credibility of the election, pointing out that the lack of police security might become an issue.
