Students and parents are advised to remain patient and await further updates. WAEC has emphasized that efforts are underway to ensure the results are released as promptly and accurately as possible.

WAEC Communication Officer Moyosore Adeyegbe clarified that the rumored August 5 release date is unofficial. She explained, “The results could be released before or after the mentioned date, as it has not been verified from official sources.”

Adeyegbe further noted, “Results are typically released within 45 days after the last paper. Since August 5 is less than 45 days from the end of the exam, it’s unlikely that the results will be released by then.”

An examiner, Mr. Abiodun Abubakar, added that the grading and script return process concluded on Sunday. He suggested that results might be available in early August, but noted that the potential August 1 protest could affect the timeline.

For reference, WAEC’s Lagos Office Head, Dr. Amos Dangut, had previously stated that the 2024 WASSCE for school candidates began on April 30, 2024. In March 2022, WAEC reduced the result processing time from 84 days to 45 days through improved Information and Communication Technology.

The examination concluded on June 20, 2024, making today, July 30, the 40th day since the exams ended.
