The shocking incident occurred when the suspected cultist, ‘Eko,’ fatally stabbed 65-year-old Mrs. Esther Amali and her 20-year-old maid, Mercy Mwuese, at their residence in the Bush Bar area of Makurdi. The gruesome attack took place on a Sunday evening at around 4:30 pm. Notably, the assailant lived in the same neighborhood as his victims.

Eyewitnesses revealed that the vicious assault and the subsequent murders were linked to the ongoing intense cult rivalry in that part of the town. The arrest of Jemilu Sule provides a sense of relief to the community and brings hope for justice for the victims and their families.
