2. The Mpox outbreak in Nigeria has spread to 30 local government areas across 19 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), with 40 confirmed cases reported. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC) also recorded 802 suspected cases across 33 states.
3. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, having just returned from France, is now preparing for a trip to the People’s Republic of China. Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, announced that the visit is scheduled for the first week of September.
