What You Need To Know As Dennis Idahosa Moves Motion To Construct Pedestrian Bridge At Okada Junction
Hon Dennis Idahosa, the lawmaker representing Ovia Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, moved a motion on the floor of the Green Chambers yesterday calling for the construction of a pedestrian bridge on the Benin-Ore-Lagos Road by Okada Junction.
The legislator claims that the bridge’s construction is long overdue given the amount of daily traffic on the highway, which connects communities and towns in Okada and lguobazuwa areas of Edo state.
Okada is the administrative headquarters of Edo State’s Ovia North-East Local Government Area.
Okada Junction is a very profitable economic junction that serves as a meeting point for several communities and is also a popular landmark for travelers. Saw milling is a significant economic activity in Ovia North-East.
As the lawmaker correctly stated, lawmakers’ duty is not only to enact laws, but also to protect the lives and property of their constituents.
