What’s The Excuse Now? – Mike Edwards Challenges Carter Efe To Super Fight

Former Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) housemate and professional boxer Mike Edwards has challenged content creator Carter Efe to a boxing match, accusing him of avoiding the proposed showdown for an extended period.

According to Bush Radio Academy, Edwards issued the challenge in an Instagram post on Monday, following Carter Efe’s recent victory over singer Speed Darlington in a celebrity boxing bout.

Edwards claimed he had approached Carter Efe before the content creator’s first professional boxing appearance, advising him to secure a victory and gain experience before they eventually faced each other in what he described as a “super fight.”

However, Edwards noted that Carter Efe has now participated in three fights, while he has only had one bout, questioning why the proposed matchup has yet to materialise.

“Quit fighting these bums and accept a real challenge,” Edwards said while calling on the content creator to face him.

The former BBNaija housemate also acknowledged that Carter Efe was earning money from his boxing appearances but argued that fans deserved a more competitive contest.

“Give the people value for their money. You don’t fight enough now,” Edwards added.

Edwards further disclosed that he had already contacted Balmoral Promotions regarding the possibility of organising the fight, suggesting that discussions could soon lead to an official agreement.

The professional boxer said he is scheduled to compete in Dubai on November 7 and intends to turn his attention to Carter Efe afterward.

Edwards maintained that he has been available for the proposed bout and challenged Carter Efe to accept what he described as a genuine test against an experienced boxer.

The challenge comes amid growing interest in celebrity boxing in Nigeria, with Carter Efe’s recent victory over Speed Darlington and other high-profile bouts attracting significant public attention.
