Nigerian Catholic priest, Fr. Kelvin Ugwu, has taken to social media to criticize an unnamed Anambra-born professor who he claims feels threatened by the presidential ambition of Peter Obi, a fellow indigene of the state.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

According to Fr. Ugwu, the professor aspires to become Nigeria’s president but views Obi as a major obstacle to that goal.

In his post, Fr. Ugwu explained that the professor’s concern is that if Peter Obi becomes president before him, the South East would be seen as already having had its turn in national leadership.

This, he argued, could push back the chances of another candidate from the region for nearly two decades, based on the principle of rotational politics. Ugwu added that the professor also fears being compared unfavorably to Obi’s legacy in Anambra governance.

Without naming the professor, many believe Fr. Ugwu’s remarks were a veiled response to recent comments by Anambra State Governor, Professor Charles Soludo, who criticized Peter Obi’s vow to serve a single term if elected president. Fr. Ugwu concluded his post by mocking the professor’s perceived jealousy and inability to conceal his resentment.
