“My educational background played a pivotal role in my decision to reject the third-term agenda,” Wabara emphasized. “If we had supported the third term, we could have faced dictatorship and tyranny. Leaders like Buhari and even Tinubu might not have emerged.”

Reflecting on Nigeria’s current state, Wabara lamented the politicization of poverty by those in power, asserting, “There’s a deliberate effort to keep the electorate hungry to maintain control. This prevents them from questioning leadership.”

He clarified that his resignation from office was voluntary and not due to pressure from Obasanjo, underscoring his commitment to democratic principles throughout his career.
