Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, has expressed appreciation to the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), its governors, and National Assembly members for throwing their weight behind President Bola Tinubu’s bid for a second term.

Kalu, who represents Bende Federal Constituency in Abia State, praised President Tinubu’s achievements in the first two years of his administration, describing them as impactful and deserving of continued leadership.

In a statement released on Thursday after the APC National Summit held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, Kalu said:

“At today’s landmark Summit, we unanimously endorsed President Tinubu as our sole candidate for the 2027 presidential election — a decision rooted in his remarkable delivery of the Renewed Hope Agenda to Nigerians.”

He emphasized that President Tinubu’s two-year track record is marked by significant progress across multiple sectors, attributing this to focused policymaking and bold leadership.

“From infrastructure to national unity, the President has consistently delivered the dividends of democracy across all zones, upholding equity and driving development.”

Kalu particularly commended Tinubu’s attention to the South East, citing key initiatives such as ongoing federal road rehabilitation, the revival of the Eastern rail line, support for small businesses, inclusive appointments, and the creation of the South East Development Commission (SEDC) aimed at fostering the region’s reconstruction and economic transformation.

He assured Nigerians that the federal legislature remains firmly aligned with the President’s vision:

“At the National Assembly, we remain committed to deepening the collaboration between the legislative and executive arms of government to ensure sustainable national progress.”
