Wike Drops Bombshell: Bala Mohammed Begged For Peace, Claims Atiku Hates Him

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has alleged that Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, once told him that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar harboured resentment toward him.

Wike made the claim while inspecting ongoing projects in Jahi and Kuje, Abuja.

According to him, Mohammed visited him in Port Harcourt in 2022 and expressed strong opposition to supporting Atiku, stating he would never align with him. He further claimed that Mohammed urged him to support Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who had just emerged as the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

However, Wike alleged that within days, Mohammed reversed his stance and later backed Atiku. He also claimed that during a more recent meeting at his Abuja residence, the governor reiterated that Atiku disliked him and sought reconciliation within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Wike questioned Mohammed’s consistency, expressing concern over what he described as frequent shifts in political position.

Meanwhile, the minister also addressed a joint gathering of APC and PDP stakeholders at his official residence in Life Camp, Abuja, where he spoke about ongoing political collaboration between members of both parties.

He noted that some individuals are uncomfortable with the cooperation between the two parties and may attempt to create divisions among stakeholders.

Wike cautioned against internal conflicts driven by personal ambition and warned against rushing into political endorsements, emphasising that unity has been the foundation of their current strength.

He also criticised individuals who, after benefiting from appointments facilitated by the group, later turned against its leadership, describing such actions as a reflection of poor character.

Looking ahead to future elections, Wike dismissed claims of private endorsements for local positions, stating that his stance remains consistent both publicly and privately.

He clarified that the only endorsement currently in place is for President Tinubu, adding that no decisions have been made regarding state-level positions until further consultations with party elders.

Reaffirming his commitment to transparency, Wike stressed that his public statements always reflect his true position, while also commending party leaders and stakeholders for their unity and coordination.
