Wike Issues Ultimatum: ‘Do These Two Things Or Forget Peace In Rivers,’ He Warns Fubara

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has declared that peace will only return to Rivers State if Governor Siminalayi Fubara takes the necessary steps.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
According to Wike, Fubara must re-present the 2025 budget to the State Assembly under Martin Amaewhule’s leadership and resubmit his commissioners’ list for clearance. He insisted that without fulfilling these conditions, lasting peace would remain elusive.
“What is peace? Peace comes when the right thing is done. If the right things are not done, how can you expect peace? Peace is based on legality,” Wike stated during a live media chat in Abuja.
He emphasized that Fubara must act in accordance with the law, urging him to correct what he termed as illegal actions.
Wike also recounted how he played a pivotal role in Fubara’s emergence as governor, despite resistance from some Ijaw politicians. He further noted that the Ijaw people remain a minority in Rivers State and the Niger Delta, arguing that apart from Bayelsa State, their chances of producing a governor elsewhere in the region are slim.
