Wike Responds To Senator Kingibe Of Labour Party 

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has responded to Senator Ireti Kingibe’s criticism by telling her to “go and hang herself on a transformer” if she is unhappy with his actions in the FCT. Wike emphasized that his primary focus is on fulfilling the duties assigned to him by President Bola Tinubu, rather than seeking anyone’s approval.

Wike’s remarks came on Monday following Senator Kingibe’s claim that FCT residents are dissatisfied with his performance, accusing him of being out of touch with their needs. She highlighted issues such as the lack of schools, hospitals, and potable water in the FCT.

In his response, Wike asserted that he is not in office to please Senator Kingibe and defended his achievements since his appointment. He also questioned Senator Kingibe’s contributions to the welfare and development of FCT residents since she took office in the National Assembly.

Challenging Kingibe, Wike suggested that she run for the FCT seat again in 2027 if she believes she has popular support. He confidently predicted her defeat, asserting that the previous election’s outcome would not be repeated.
