Wike Wants Emergency Rule To Linger In Rivers – Explosive Revelation From Fubara’s Inner Circle

The political crisis in Rivers State shows no sign of abating, as Chisom Gbali, the Commissioner for Youth under the embattled Governor Siminalayi Fubara, has claimed that deliberate efforts are underway to extend the state of emergency in the region.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
In an interview with AriseTV, Gbali pointed fingers at the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, and his loyalists, accusing them of plotting to destabilize the current administration and create grounds for prolonging emergency rule.
Gbali expressed skepticism over President Bola Tinubu’s involvement, questioning why a state deemed largely peaceful would be placed under emergency governance.
“There is a clear plan to extend the emergency rule. Before the current six-month term expires, they want to trigger fresh unrest so that the President is forced to make another declaration. And we all know that such a move could signal the end of the current administration,” he said.
He also highlighted subtle political tactics that, in his view, indicate a calculated disruption of governance.
“In politics, signals matter — body language matters. When you observe closely, you’ll notice a deliberate sidelining of ongoing projects, and a sudden push to introduce new budgets. Even those meant to broker peace are pushing for the appointment of sole administrators at the local government level,” he added.
Gbali didn’t hold back in directly blaming Wike, the former Rivers governor and current FCT minister, as well as his political allies — including assembly members and local government chairmen whose terms have expired — for stoking unrest.
“These individuals are uncomfortable with the governor’s progress and are doing everything possible to destabilize the administration,” Gbali alleged.
He also criticized President Tinubu’s role in the unfolding situation, arguing that more urgent national issues are being neglected in favor of political interference in Rivers State.
“All of this is being orchestrated with 2027 in mind. It’s shocking that the President is getting involved in this drama, especially when more pressing challenges face the country,” he remarked.
Gbali concluded by questioning the logic of the emergency declaration in Rivers, particularly when more volatile states have not received similar attention.
“People are being killed daily in Plateau State, yet no emergency was declared there. But here in Rivers, with no major incident or loss of life, an emergency was declared. That’s why many are calling on the President to reconsider his decision,” he said.
