Wike’s Achievements In FCT ‘Key To APC Victory’ – Basiru Reveals

During an appearance on TVC’s Beyond The Headlines, Basiru stressed that although Wike is not formally a member of the APC, he functions within the APC-led federal government under President Bola Tinubu.

He pointed out that the impressive infrastructural development across the FCT over the past two and a half years—covering both urban centres and suburban areas—was a key factor in the party’s strong showing in the elections. Basiru also credited the APC’s strategic outreach and the careful selection of candidates with proven political experience from different parties for their victory.

He said, “Wike may not belong to our party, but he works under an APC government led by Tinubu. The extensive infrastructural improvements in the FCT, both in cities and suburban communities, clearly demonstrate the impact. The minister’s outstanding performance, combined with our party’s strategic engagement and the selection of candidates with credible political backgrounds, played a major role in APC’s success in the FCT local government elections.
