The spokesperson for the FCT Minister, Lere Olayinka, has criticized the Alaafin of Oyo for being asked to move from his seat during the 91st birthday church thanksgiving of billionaire businessman Sir Gabriel Igbinedion.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Sir Igbinedion, who turned 91 on September 8, hosted a church thanksgiving and invited the Alaafin, who arrived early and was ushered to a front seat.
When the celebrant and his wife, Lady Cherry, arrived, the monarch—already seated—was asked to shift from the edge of the pew to the middle so they could take their place.
Olayinka, who shared a video of the moment, described it as disrespectful and questioned why there wasn’t another seat available. He added that such a gesture would never have been attempted with the late Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi.
In his post, Olayinka wrote:
“Honestly, this is so very bad! How can Alaafin of Oyo, Iku Baba Yeye, be made to stand up and leave his seat? Was it that there were no other seats?”
