Wike’s Revelation Fueled My Boldness” – Fubara Opens Up

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has publicly expressed his gratitude to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, crediting him for recognizing his potential and giving him a platform in the oil-rich state.

Fubara made the remarks on Friday while receiving the New Telegraph Man of the Year Award, acknowledging that without Wike’s support, he would not have ascended to the governorship. He described Wike’s recognition as the catalyst that gave him the confidence and voice he enjoys today.

He stated, “I do not care how you interpret or misinterpret it. I dedicate this award to the person who discovered me despite the circumstances, the Honorable Minister of the FCT, my oga, Nyesom Wike. Without him, I wouldn’t be standing here as governor. His discovery gave me this loudness. Thank you for everything. I also dedicate this award to the people of Rivers State, whose support, patience, and maturity have brought us this far.”

In related developments, Governor Fubara has appointed Onwuka Nzeshi as his new Chief Press Secretary, following the dismissal of former Chief Press Coordinator, Nelson Chukwudi. The state government did not provide a reason for Chukwudi’s removal.

Earlier, Fubara dissolved the State Executive Council and relieved all Special Advisers of their appointments. The cabinet dissolution was announced in a Government Special Announcement issued in Port Harcourt on Thursday and circulated to journalists by the new Chief Press Secretary.
