The suspect, a 21-year-old man, drove a short distance before the woman managed to escape and call for help.

Later that evening, the vehicle believed to be involved in the kidnapping was seized by police. The man was arrested in the early hours of Monday, August 12, on suspicion of kidnapping, vehicle theft, and evading payment.

Police Superintendent Petra Lazar addressed the situation, stating, “We understand the concerns this investigation has raised within the local community. Rest assured, a dedicated team has been working tirelessly to conduct thorough inquiries, which have now led to the arrest of a suspect.

“We would like to thank those who have already provided information to the police, and we encourage anyone with additional details, no matter how small, to come forward. Any piece of information could be vital to the ongoing investigation.”
