A woman in San Antonio, Texas, has been charged with murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after she allegedly drove her vehicle into her former boyfriend and his new girlfriend in a restaurant parking lot, resulting in the woman’s death.

Dionisiah Kazuko Edwards-Carpeal is facing the charges over the incident, which reportedly occurred on Monday, September 28, 2026, in the 9700 block of Data Point Drive in San Antonio.

According to Bush Radio Academy, citing details contained in an arrest report, police officers were called to the area following reports that a silver SUV had struck pedestrians in a parking lot.

Upon arrival, officers found one of the victims suffering from serious injuries. She was taken to a hospital but later died from her injuries. The second victim, who was also struck, survived the incident.

Investigators reportedly learned that the surviving victim had been in a relationship with Edwards-Carpeal for about six years. He told authorities that Edwards-Carpeal had repeatedly called and sent him messages after discovering that he had started dating the woman who was later killed.

The man said he and his new girlfriend were walking from a Wendy’s restaurant toward a nearby residence when Edwards-Carpeal allegedly drove slowly alongside them and called out to him.

According to the arrest report, a security guard subsequently approached the SUV and instructed the driver to leave the pair alone.

The surviving victim told investigators that he then heard the SUV’s tyres screech before Edwards-Carpeal allegedly accelerated toward them. He said the vehicle struck both victims, throwing him onto the hood before he fell to the ground and sustained injuries to his ankle and back.

A witness reportedly told investigators that the woman who died was dragged underneath the SUV before one of the vehicle’s rear tyres ran over her.

Two other witnesses allegedly described seeing the SUV veer toward the victims before hitting them. One witness further claimed that the driver turned the vehicle around, drove back toward the victims, looked through the driver’s-side window and then left the scene.

Investigators said video footage recorded by one of the witnesses supported accounts that the SUV had been driven toward the victims.

Police reportedly traced the vehicle’s registration plate to Edwards-Carpeal, while the surviving victim identified her as the driver from a photograph.

Edwards-Carpeal remains in custody at the Bexar County Jail and is being held on a combined bond of $400,000 as the case proceeds.
