A growing number of students are now embracing a rapid yet perilous path to acquire wealth in an attempt to impress and outshine their peers on campuses throughout the country.

Rather than concentrating on their education, these students opt to deceive unsuspecting victims, utilizing the gains to purchase luxurious vehicles and socialize with attractive companions while in school.

The ostentatious display of affluence by students engaged in advance-fee fraud within university campuses tends to allure other students who believe such a lifestyle should be imitated.

Amidst the conspicuous wealth flaunted by those involved, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) continues to conduct raids on suspected institutions and apprehend students suspected of engaging in such activities.

Reports reveal that higher education institutions like Kwara State University, Obafemi Awolowo University, Akwa Ibom State University, Ladoke Akintola University (LAUTECH), and Olabisi Onabanjo University have been targeted by EFCC operatives, leading to the arrest of students suspected of internet-related offenses.

Notably, EFCC operatives apprehended 19 students from Akwa Ibom State University in Mkpat-Enin, Akwa Ibom State, on charges of alleged internet-related offenses.
