The incident reportedly occurred while Wumi was exchanging pleasantries with fellow actresses Ini Edo and Eniola Ajao when Enioluwa approached to greet her and mentioned her name during the interaction. The actress immediately took offence, pushing him slightly aside and questioning why he addressed her that way.
Enioluwa quickly attempted to defuse the tension, insisting he had greeted her respectfully by saying, “Aunty Wumi.” However, Wumi maintained that a more respectful approach was expected, stressing that younger people should observe proper regard.
As Enioluwa moved in for a hug, he reportedly said, “Wumi how are you?”
In response, the actress fired back: “Are you insane? Did you just call my name? How dare you call me by my name?”
Enioluwa immediately replied, “No no, I didn’t say that. I said Aunty Wumi, how are you?”
Following reactions online, Wumi later addressed comments about her age on her Instagram story, saying many people misjudge her because of her youthful looks.
She noted that she finished secondary school in 2003 and urged critics to do the math themselves.
She wrote: “I saw people debating my age. Nor be everyone ise de gbo ooo. Na all my family get baby face. I finished secondary school in 2003. Do d maths. 16 nor dey enter uni that time.
