Dr Folasade Yemi-Esan, the Head of the Service of the Federation, is set to retire on August 14, 2024. This announcement was made in Abuja on Wednesday by Mohammed Ahmed, the Director of Communications in her office, during a discussion with media executives marking the 2024 Civil Service Week Celebrations.
Mohammed Ahmed noted that this briefing would be the final one presided over by Yemi-Esan in her capacity as the HoCSF. Yemi-Esan, who turns 60 on August 14 this year, is reaching the mandatory retirement age for civil servants in key Ministries, Departments, and Agencies.
Previously, Yemi-Esan was appointed as Acting HoCSF by the former President, Muhammadu Buhari, on September 18, 2019, following the removal of Mrs Winifred Ekanem Oyo-Ita. She was inaugurated on March 4, 2020, while serving as the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Petroleum Resources.
This year’s civil service week was themed ‘Educate an African Fit for the 21st Century: Building Resilient Education Systems for Increased Access to Inclusive, Lifelong, Quality and Relevant Learning in Africa’, according to PUNCH Online.
