Yobe Police Apprehend Nine Suspects Linked To Fatal Homicide Case

The Yobe State Police Command has apprehended nine individuals in relation to two separate homicide cases in Damaturu. According to a statement released by Dungus Abdulkarim, the Public Relations Officer of the Yobe State Police Command, the incidents occurred on different dates.

In the first incident, which transpired on March 29, 2024, around 6:30 pm, operatives of the Area Command responded to a distress call from Mohammed Sani of Nayi-Nawa Ward. Sani reported that Muhammed Muhammed had allegedly stabbed his 19-year-old son, Hashimu Mohammed, following a heated argument. Unfortunately, Hashimu succumbed to his injuries before receiving medical assistance. Muhammed Muhammed, the accused, initially fled the scene but was later apprehended by the police.

The second incident unfolded on April 3, 2024, approximately at 9:00 pm, when a distress call from Usman Abba, also residing in Nayi-Nawa Ward, alerted the police to another tragic event. Usman reported that his 17-year-old son, Mamman Usman, was brutally attacked by a group of eight youths aged between 17 and 20. Mamman Usman was fatally assaulted with a knife during the violent altercation.

The police have managed to arrest eight individuals involved in the attack, while efforts are underway to apprehend one more suspect who is currently evading capture.
