Ndume, who represents Borno South Senatorial District, made the shocking claim during an interview on Arise Television, while commenting on the escalating diplomatic tension between Nigeria and the United States.

The outspoken lawmaker lamented that even senior government figures and legislators now struggle to meet with the President without going through intermediaries who allegedly “ask for money” before facilitating such access.

He said:

“I don’t have a chance to see the President. The only time I can see him is when he’s heading to an event.

This is how they run the government. I’m telling you, they don’t have people there. The system is now dominated by kakistocrats—people who are least qualified or most corrupt. If you want to see the President, they will ask you how much.”

Ndume further revealed that he had written formal requests to meet the President to discuss pressing financial matters but was repeatedly blocked by bureaucratic bottlenecks and uncooperative aides.

“I wrote to them that I wanted to see the President to discuss some financial issues, but they were playing games as if you need to go to heaven before seeing him,” he added.
