According to Sulaiman Bala Idris, the governor’s spokesperson, the deployment of a significant number of security personnel, including the Army, Airforce, and Police, on these highways is part of the state government’s strategy to combat banditry.
Governor Lawal has also instructed the military and police to utilize CSK armored and Armored Personnel Carrier (APC) vehicles for regular patrols, with the state government providing logistical support.
As a result of these recent security measures, peace has been restored, and travelers can now safely navigate these once-volatile highways in Zamfara State.
