On Wednesday, the Governor disclosed that the initial group of Community Protection Guards (CPG), recruited from all 14 local government areas of the state, will undergo training within a week.
A statement from the Governor’s Spokesperson, Sulaiman Bala Idris, indicated that Governor Lawal received the whitepaper of the transition committee at the Government House council chamber in Gusau, the state capital.
According to the statement, the whitepaper was presented by a committee led by Alhaji Bello Umar Karakkai, a former Head of Service in Zamfara State.
During the presentation of the whitepaper on the transition committee report, Governor Lawal commended the committee for their meticulous examination of the report and for presenting the government’s stance on the various issues and recommendations raised in the report.
The whitepaper committee was driven by the need to address the public’s paramount interests by scrutinizing the various recommendations and issues presented by the transition committee in 2023 and articulating the government’s position.
“This aligns with the Zamfara State government’s commitment to resolving various matters related to public service and overall administration,” the statement added.
The statement also noted that the governor expressed his appreciation to both the transition committee and the authors of the whitepaper for their comprehensive examination of a wide array of issues related to Zamfara State’s development.
These encompass broader topics such as governance reform and essential components like public service and financial reforms.
