Governor Babagana Umara Zulum of Borno State oversaw the dispersal of food assistance to more than 52,000 families across seven local government areas in Southern Borno. This initiative aimed to mitigate the challenges posed by inflation and the prevailing economic difficulties across the nation.

The distribution event occurred at the Biu township stadium on a Sunday. The recipient local government areas comprised Biu, Shani, Chibok, Askira-Uba, Kwaya Kusar, Bayo, and Hawul.

In addition to the distribution efforts, Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume, representing Southern Borno, encouraged constituents not to sell the provisions, both food, and non-food items, generously donated by Governor Zulum.
