Oba Of Benin Sends Letter To Governor Okpebholo, Calls For Inclusive LeadershipThe Oba of Benin, Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Ewuare II, has called on Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, to establish an inclusive government aimed at improving the welfare of all residents in the state. The Oba also prayed for divine guidance, seeking the blessings of God Almighty and the royal ancestors to help the governor achieve greater success and progress for Edo State. The statement read, “His Royal Majesty is confident that with His Excellency’s vast experience in both business and politics, he will excel in this position and fulfill his mandate to the people of Edo, both at home and in the diaspora.”

The monarch urged Governor Okpebholo to operate an inclusive government that ensures the welfare of all citizens in Edo, emphasizing the importance of unity and collective progress for the state.

Meanwhile, Governor Okpebholo has taken significant steps toward fulfilling his mandate. On Monday, he officially signed a revised Appropriation Bill into law, totaling N485.63 billion. The bill, which was swiftly passed by the Edo State House of Assembly, allocates N202.65 billion for recurrent expenditure and N282.99 billion for capital projects, highlighting the government’s focus on infrastructure development and economic growth.

During the signing ceremony at the Executive Council Chamber of Government House in Benin City, Governor Okpebholo commended the state lawmakers for their prompt action in passing the bill, noting that this development paves the way for transformative governance in Edo State.
