PSC Confirms Advancement Of 27 Police Officers, Including AIGs And CommissionersThe Police Service Commission (PSC) has approved the promotion of 27 senior police officers, elevating them to higher ranks across various states in Nigeria.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
According to Naija News, the promotions include 11 Commissioners of Police (CPs) who have been elevated to the rank of Assistant Inspectors General (AIGs), and 16 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) who are now full Commissioners of Police (CPs).
In a statement released on Monday by the PSC’s spokesperson, Ikechukwu Ani, it was revealed that the officers involved in the promotion process underwent both written and oral assessments at the PSC’s Corporate Headquarters on December 16, 2024.
DIG Hashimu Argungu, the Chairman of the PSC, emphasized that written and oral exams will now be a mandatory part of the promotion process at all levels within the Nigeria Police Force. The Honorable Commissioner and Chairman of the Standing Committee on Police Promotions, DIG Taiwo Lakanu, supervised the oral interviews, encouraging the promoted officers to meet the expectations of their new roles. He assured that the PSC remains committed to conducting promotions in a timely and merit-based manner.
The PSC plenary session is scheduled to reconvene on Tuesday, December 17, 2024.
