143 Kidnapping Suspects Arrested By Police In Kaduna Operation

In recent months, Kaduna State Police Command has apprehended 143 individuals suspected of involvement in kidnapping and armed robbery across various areas of the state. The Commissioner of Police, Audu Dabigi, revealed this during a press briefing at the Kaduna Police Headquarters. Among those detained are 73 armed robbers and 70 bandits, including a notable marabout named Bello, who was captured while preparing charms for criminal activities.

During the operation, nine bandits were also neutralized by police personnel. A significant cache of weapons was seized, including five AK-47 rifles, seven locally-made firearms, and 1,817 rounds of live ammunition. Additionally, the police arrested 985 suspected phone snatchers, eight suspected car thieves, and a suspected railway vandal during the same period.

Commissioner Dabigi acknowledged the collaborative efforts of various security agencies, as well as the support of Governor Uba Sani, in ensuring the success of these operations. He emphasized the dedication of his officers and expressed gratitude to the traditional institutions and community stakeholders whose cooperation has been instrumental in maintaining peace and security in Kaduna State.
