2027 Abia Race Heats Up: Doris Ogala Dares Otti, Vows To Become Next Governor
Nollywood actress and African Action Congress (AAC) governorship candidate in Abia State, Doris Ogala, has expressed confidence that s
Ogala made the declaration on Monday while appearing on the Clarity Zone podcast, hosted by media personality Nedu Wazobia.
The actress said her decision to contest the governorship was influenced by what she described as a divine calling to serve and improve the lives of people in Abia State.
She further stated that she believes she is more prepared than other potential contenders and remains convinced that nothing will prevent her from becoming the next governor of the state.
“I am so sure, and I know it, because I’m better than all of them. My call to come and save my people is a divine mandate. I will be the next governor of Abia State. Nothing is going to stop it.”
Ogala also spoke about her personal experience while staying at her family home in Abia, claiming she spent three months there without electricity.
According to her, the experience strengthened her belief that the state government had not done enough to address the challenges facing residents.
“I have been in Abia for three good months. No lights. I sleep in my family house. I don’t have lights. I can tell you that this present government has done nothing. And I will tell you because I know.”
She accused the government of presenting an overly positive picture of its achievements to the public and specifically challenged Governor Otti over the Ariaria International Market.
“They’ve sold this thing to the public for the longest time. I dare the governor, Alex Otti, to challenge me. He didn’t build Ariaria.”
Ogala’s comments come amid growing political discussions ahead of the next governorship contest in Abia State, with the actress positioning herself as a challenger to the incumbent administration.
he will become the state’s next governor, challenging incumbent Governor Alex Otti to dispute her claim.
