2027: Bala Mohammed Emerges APM National Leader As Dantalle Secures Fresh Term

Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has emerged as the National Leader of the Allied People’s Movement (APM).

Mohammed was formally inaugurated into the position on Thursday during the APM national convention held at the Dr Rilwanu Sulaimanu Adamu Square, Government House, Bauchi.

Speaking at the convention, Mohammed expressed confidence in the party’s 2027 presidential ticket of Seyi Makinde and Lawal Daura.

He described Makinde as the best candidate to lead Nigeria, expressing optimism that an APM government would promote inclusive governance and accommodate Nigerians from diverse backgrounds.

Mohammed said his emergence as national leader came with significant responsibility and pledged that the party’s leadership would work hard to meet the expectations of its members and supporters.

“The recognition you have given us is going to give us a lot of challenges. It is for us to do more for you. By the grace of God, we will not disappoint you,” he said.

The governor also highlighted Makinde’s engineering background as an advantage in tackling Nigeria’s development challenges.

According to him, the APM presidential candidate’s technical expertise, combined with the administrative experience of party leaders, would provide the right leadership mix for the country.

“We are putting square pegs in square holes. Our presidential candidate is an engineer by profession. He knows how to manufacture, develop and draw a plan, and we as administrators are behind him,” Mohammed said.

He further assured Nigerians that the APM would pursue an inclusive approach to governance and work towards accommodating citizens from different backgrounds.

Dantalle Re-elected APM Chairman

Meanwhile, Yusuf Dantalle was re-elected as the National Chairman of the APM during the convention.

Dantalle described the party as a strong political platform capable of leading Nigeria towards greater prosperity.

He argued that Nigeria had abundant resources and the potential to become a prosperous nation but had been held back by leadership challenges.

The APM chairman called on Nigerians across the six geopolitical zones and different ethnic, religious and cultural groups to support the party’s vision of building a stronger, more united and prosperous country.

“We have everything we need. Nigerians are not supposed to be slaves in their own country. God has given this country the greatness that we require,” he said.

Dantalle added:

“We call on all Nigerians across the six geopolitical zones, across ethnic, religious and cultural divides, to identify with the Allied People’s Movement because our party is committed to building a stronger, more prosperous and more united Nigeria.”

He said the APM was determined to establish itself as a formidable national political movement capable of producing leaders who would earn the trust of Nigerians.

Dantalle also urged party members and supporters to take the APM’s message of hope, unity, development and democratic renewal to communities across the country.

“Let us take our message of hope, unity, development and democratic renewal to everyone, every local government, state and community,” he said.

He described the mobilisation strategy as “Operation Talk to Somebody, Talk to Somebody, Talk to Somebody,” urging members to continue engaging Nigerians until the party’s message reaches every community.

The national chairman expressed confidence in the APM’s prospects ahead of the 2027 elections, saying the party’s unity, vision and commitment to Nigerians would position it strongly for electoral success.
