2027: Dele Momodu Reveals Why Tinubu Could Have An Easy Path To Re-Election

A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Dele Momodu, has said President Bola Tinubu could have a relatively smooth path to victory in the 2027 presidential election if he is able to demonstrate tangible achievements from his time in office.

Speaking during an appearance on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily on Monday, Momodu argued that Nigerians would ultimately assess the President based on his performance rather than political rhetoric.

He advised members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to focus on presenting the administration’s accomplishments to the electorate instead of directing their energy toward attacking opposition figures.

Momodu also criticised the APC for what he described as its continued habit of blaming previous governments for the country’s economic and governance challenges.

“The 2027 election will not be difficult for Tinubu if he can show the records of his performance. Nobody hates him personally. It is about performance. Present your scorecards.

“What we see is APC abusing itself and its predecessors, saying they inherited a useless government and economy. I have never seen a place where a party destroys its own predecessors like APC.”

Commenting on former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s recent statement that selecting Atiku Abubakar as his running mate was his greatest political mistake, Momodu suggested that Obasanjo remains opposed to Atiku’s long-standing presidential ambition.
